In today’s world of multi-national conglomerates, shopping malls the size of towns, and the luxury to buy just about anything from just about anywhere and have it shipped to your door, we can very easily forget what’s at the heart of a healthy economy: small business, Main Street of the global marketplace.
This week, the U.S. is celebrating the 50th Annual National Small Business Week. Since 1963, America has dedicated a week to honoring small businesses, which provide 2 out of every 3 jobs in the country. More than 50% of Americans own or work for small businesses. And it’s not just the US – all around the world, innovation and local character thrive because of small business; and the large businesses that do become successful are those who never forget small business roots.
All businesses start out small. Someone has a skill, idea or passion that they want to offer, whether just to their neighbors or to the whole world. Some of these businesses diversify and grow into large national or international businesses and become household names. Most remain small, serving a specific local clientele or fulfilling the needs of a niche market. These small businesses are at the heart of their communities throughout the world, enriching the lives of the people in those communities.
Payza has a close relationship with small business. Our goal is to provide freelancers, self-employed professionals, entrepreneurs and business owners with convenient and affordable tools for growing their business. This is because we believe in small business and want to help them to improve the lives of the people they serve.
